Felina Danalis

Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Felina Danalis, M.A., S.E.P., helps her clients master resilience to stress, anxiety and trauma in order to have a more meaningful impact in the world. Her trauma-informed global coaching practice offers individual, group, and organizational coaching, as well as domestic and international retreats. She is especially passionate about working with bi-cultural and mission-driven individuals and organizations to more deeply embody their values at the intersection of self and community care. Felina’s work is grounded in her experience working with diverse populations in international development and humanitarian assistance, in institutions such as the World Bank, the European Union and the Greek Foreign Ministry. While on assignment as a diplomat in a post-conflict war-zone in the Balkans, she witnessed a traumatic car bombing. This “breaking open” moment led to a radical redirection of her life and work, first to Tibetan Buddhism and meditation, and then to yoga and body-centered approaches to healing, such as Somatic Experiencing. Felina has contributed to a broad range of organizations, including Google, The Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, The Betty Ford Center, The Golden Door, InsightLA, The Children’s Advocacy Center, and Planned Parenthood. She is a dual Greek - U.S. national, speaks five languages, and lives on Cahuilla land in what is now known as Palm Springs, California where she can often be found hiking, cooking organic Greek food, and learning about healthy boundaries in the school of life

What people are saying:

Praise from folks who've worked with Felina

“This is 100 times more effective than any therapy I had ever experienced! But this is not a quick fix - this is “the work” and it continues every day. But it has completely transformed my life. ”

J.P.

“I've stopped feeling like I have to push myself so much, that the only way to get through life is to repeatedly force myself into being productive. I feel more connected to myself, my friends, and my community. I'm able to communicate what I want and need rather than shrink myself or get caught in a pattern of avoidance. I'm less isolated and much more open to new experiences. There is a renewed sense of exploration and curiosity. I've even started playing tennis (something I've wanted to do since I was a kid!), have a meditation and yoga practice, have set boundaries with my family and have initiated difficult conversations in my relationship -- things I wouldn't have ever thought possible a year ago! ”

N.E.

“This offering and Felina’s mentorship/deep insight+facilitation of beautiful brave space have literally changed my life. It’s how I’ve found/been guided to show up differently in the world—at work, at home, in relationships. Honestly, it’s everything. This space has reminded me I am someone who can be brave! I’m someone who can get cancer and fucking live and learn even deeper, bigger, more authentically in all the ways!”

A.T.

“So much of our culture is about fragmentation. It’s nice to spend time on methods that increase meaningful focus. ”

FAQ

  • Is this course right for me?

This course was designed for folks who want to master resilience to stress, anxiety and trauma in order to have a more meaningful 🙏 impact in the world. If that sounds like you - or the people in your community - join us. Whether you have been working on boundaries for years - or are brand new to them - this course will help you create a boundary practice.

  • What kind of support will I get?

In addition to weekly live classes, experiential integration exercises, supplementary materials and optional office hours, you’ll receive two private coaching sessions. These sessions are designed to help you get clarity on your Intentions for the course and support you in ensuring you get the most from it. You’ll receive specific suggestions about how to make the most from this opportunity, including recommendations for additional resources if needed. Towards the end of the course, you’ll have a second opportunity to get personalized support through an Integration session. These coaching sessions are geared towards your specific needs and may include Somatic Experiencing tools. For members of marginalized and oppressed communities, you’ll have the opportunity to explore particular ways to support the development of boundaries that work within your unique cultural and social location and that are also adaptive to dominant culture when necessary.

  • Is this course like group therapy?

This offering is primarily experiential and educational. You may very well also experience a 💗 therapeutic benefit if you come to your private sessions, weekly group classes, and do the suggested integration practices. Private additional somatic coaching, indigenous healing practices or psychotherapy can be incredibly helpful for healing boundaries. You are encouraged to bring the material in the course to your private practitioner for extra attention related to your unique history, circumstances, social location and cultural identity. If you don’t have a therapist or practitioner you are working with at this time, you may be encouraged to ensure you have that level of support. If it’s determined that the course isn’t a good fit for you at your private Intentions session, you may be encouraged to seek the support of an individual therapist and to join a future cohort of the course. This is both to ensure your safety and to support a group robust dynamic.

  • Do you offer a payment plan or scholarships?

You bet! Contact us if you'd like to inquire about such options.

  • How much time will I spend on course materials each week?

The live classes are 90 minutes long, and will give you experiential exercises to incorporate into your everyday life and interactions during the week. In addition, for those of you committed to making even more intensive progress in integrating the material, you’ll be given completely optional ✅ weekly practices to begin to create healthier boundaries in your life that can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour a day. These practices are yours for life and can be done concurrently with the course, or after it's completed. It's entirely up to you and what works best for your life. There is no behind in The Refuge of Boundaries and you are encouraged to go at your own pace! This is all in addition to two private coaching sessions you'll also receive at the beginning of the course and near the end of our seven-weeks together.

  • What is your refund policy?

  • What's the schedule?

Our first live session is Wednesday, October 4th. We meet for 7 consecutive weeks at the same time each week (10/4 to 11/15). Our live sessions are from 11 am - 12:30 pm Pacific weekly. Can't make a live session? No worries - all group sessions are recorded and available in your learning portal within 24 hours.

  • Why are boundaries so important anyway?

Healthy boundaries allow us to be protected and connected with others at the same time. Like our skin, healthy energetic boundaries help keep the good stuff 🌈 in and the bad stuff out. When we've been harmed or hurt in the past, one of the first places it can show up is in how we honor our own boundaries - and those of others. If you find yourself saying yes when you mean no (yet again), can’t put the phone down (even when you’re tired and need a good night’s sleep) or grabbing for one more piece of chocolate (yet again), chances are your boundaries could use a little support. I've been there, too, and can show you what's worked for me & so many of my clients.

WE ARE WIRED FOR CONNECTION.

Sometimes stuff gets in the way. The Refuge of Boundaries can help.
